Not all of my work has an intentional “meaning”. I often paint for aesthetic value with a little hint of something meaningful. Occasionally though I like to add more layers.

This one is called “Don’t Hurry Up”, after I saw a post about by incredible mother/warrior/human that I know, sharing how she was letting her son just explore and resisted the urge to tell him to “Hurry Up”, kids are magical especially when you just let them be kids.

So this painting is full of contrasts between adulthood and childhood, the urge we have as children to grow up quickly, but the wisdom we gain as an adult that tells us to slow down. The painting includes hand prints from myself and my 2 children, hand painting often thought of as a childish way to paint, but it’s literally the most direct way to paint, nothing but paint between the creator and creation.

It is painted on canvas mounted on board measuring approximately 50cm x 50cm.

The Artwork is hand signed by the Artist.
